What time do new shows come out on each service?
Netflix's Help Center says its originals are "typically released globally at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time," so 3 a.m. in Toronto. Titles that aren't Netflix originals in Canada appear at midnight local time instead.
Crave sets times per title. Youth is Sundays at 10 p.m. ET, and Slo Pitch drops two episodes every Friday from Sept. 25. Network shows like The Voice arrive the day after they air.
Netflix has exceptions too. Its Help Center says times can vary for weekly episodes that follow a broadcast, and the Hot Ones: Extra Heat episode on Sept. 14 is listed for 10 p.m. ET rather than overnight.
Crave's game shows follow the US daytime calendar. New seasons of Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune both start on Crave on Sept. 15.
How many new originals does each service add?
By our count from the lists above, Netflix Canada labels 42 dated September titles as its own series, films, specials or family titles. Crave's overview flags nine HBO or HBO Max Original releases for the month, from finales to premieres.
The counts aren't apples to apples. Netflix counts every new original separately, while Crave's biggest value is weekly episodes of shows that are already running.
What's leaving Netflix Canada in September?
Kung Fu Panda, Kung Fu Panda 2 and Kung Fu Panda 3 leave on Sept. 15, and Trolls Band Together goes on Sept. 16. All four Expendables films go on Sept. 20.
The Jurassic Park and Jurassic World films are gone on Sept. 30, per both lists.
Which one should I keep for fall?
If you follow US network TV, Crave covers CTV's shows and SNL a day later. If you binge, Netflix's September is stronger.

Which service has more Canadian content this month?
Crave, by a distance. Netflix Canada's lone new Canadian series is Crew Girl, a teen show that premiered Sept. 10.
Bell's overview marks more than a dozen September titles on Crave as Canadian, including You Will Be Free (Sept. 3), Little Lorraine and Doin' It (Sept. 11), and Cairo Time and Racewalkers (Sept. 18). The Crave Original docuseries Rebuild: Inside the Montreal Canadiens returned at the start of the month and ends its third season on Sept. 29.
Where's the reality TV this month?
Both have some. Crave carried The Traitors Australia finale on Sept. 9 and the Project Runway finale on Sept. 10, and it adds Hell's Kitchen Season 25 on Sept. 25.
