New in Canada Today, Oct. 8: Elsbeth Returns, Cupertino and Eternally Yours Open on Global
Thursday, Oct. 8 is the night Global finishes rolling out its fall schedule. Two new series start on either side of a returning one: the vampire comedy Eternally Yours at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT, Elsbeth Season 4 at 9 and the legal drama Cupertino at 10. Corus dated all three in its fall release, and Global's Toronto and British Columbia schedules carry them in that order.
CTV has football instead. Its stations give the evening to Thursday Night Football, Tampa Bay at Dallas, and The Traitors: New Blood airs on CTV2 at 8 p.m. On the streaming side, Crave adds four films, Netflix Canada adds three titles, and Disney+ gets the Abbott Elementary premiere a day after Global aired it.
| Time | Channel | Thursday, Oct. 8 |
|---|---|---|
| 7 p.m. ET | CTV | NFL Thursday Night Football pregame, then Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Dallas Cowboys from 8:15 |
| 8 p.m. | CTV2 | The Traitors: New Blood, "Wake of the Living Dead" |
| 8 p.m. ET/PT | Global | Ghosts, "Halloween 4: The Witch" |
| 8:30 p.m. ET/PT | Global | Eternally Yours, series debut |
| 9 p.m. ET/PT | Global | Elsbeth, Season 4 premiere, "Crazy in Love" |
| 10 p.m. ET/PT | Global | Cupertino, series debut, "Michael & Olivia" |
Global rows: Corus's release plus Global's schedule. CTV and CTV2 rows: the station schedules for Toronto, Barrie and Vancouver Island.
What's new on Global tonight?
Eternally Yours stars Ed Weeks and Allegra Edwards, per Corus. The 8:30 p.m. slot is a one-week arrangement: the release moves the comedy to its regular 7:30 p.m. ET/PT Thursday slot from Oct. 15.
Cupertino stars Mike Colter and Rachel Keller. Global's schedule starts Elsbeth at 9:02 p.m. and Cupertino at 10:01, so set a recording by title and not by the hour.
Corus's release doesn't list a Ghosts premiere for Oct. 8, so we haven't labelled the 8 p.m. episode new. For other U.S. series, our fall 2026 channel finder sorts them by title.
What time are Elsbeth and Cupertino on outside Ontario and B.C.?
Global's Calgary, Edmonton and Maritimes schedules for Oct. 8 open the night with Cupertino and close it with Elsbeth, the reverse of the Toronto order.
| Global show | Toronto (ET) | Calgary and Edmonton (MT) | Maritimes (AT) | British Columbia (PT) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cupertino (new series) | 10:01 p.m. | 8:01 p.m. | 8:01 p.m. | 10:01 p.m. |
| Ghosts | 8 p.m. | 9 p.m. | 9 p.m. | 8 p.m. |
| Eternally Yours (new series) | 8:30 p.m. | 9:30 p.m. | 9:30 p.m. | 8:30 p.m. |
| Elsbeth (Season 4) | 9:02 p.m. | 10:02 p.m. | 10:02 p.m. | 9:02 p.m. |
Each time is local. The schedule tool has no Winnipeg or Regina option, so check local listings in Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
Why isn't The Traitors on CTV tonight?
Because CTV has the NFL. CTV's Toronto schedule for Oct. 8 runs the Thursday Night Football pregame at 7 p.m. ET and Tampa Bay at Dallas from 8:15 to 11. ESPN's schedule has the same kickoff.
CTV's station schedules put kickoff at 9:15 p.m. AT in Halifax, 7:15 p.m. CT in Winnipeg, 6:15 p.m. MT in Calgary and 5:15 p.m. PT in Vancouver.
The Traitors: New Blood is on CTV2 in the meantime. Bell Media's fall schedule lists its series premiere on CTV2, and the Barrie and Vancouver Island stations both have the Oct. 8 episode at 8 p.m. local time. See our simultaneous substitution explainer for how Canadian channels time U.S. shows.
What's new on Crave, Netflix Canada and Disney+ on Oct. 8?
Crave adds four films: A Tribe Called Love, The Richest Woman in the World, The Bridges of Madison County and Inglourious Basterds. Bell Media's October overview and MobileSyrup's list agree, and Bell flags A Tribe Called Love as Canadian. The Crave October list has the other dates.
Netflix Canada gets the Canadian series Below, the film The Hunt and Unicorn Academy: Secrets Revealed: Chapter 2. MobileSyrup and iPhone in Canada print the same three. The rest of the month is in the Netflix Canada October list.
Disney+ has the Season 6 premiere of Abbott Elementary and the Season 8 premiere of The Kardashians, per both Canadian lists. On Prime Video the lists differ: MobileSyrup dates Drags to Riches for Oct. 8, and iPhone in Canada has Cupertino through the STACKTV add-on.
What's coming on Friday, Oct. 9?
Corus dates Sheriff Country Season 2 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, Fire Country Season 5 at 9 and Crime Beat Season 8 at 10, and Global's Toronto and B.C. schedules match.
