New in Canada Today, Oct. 7: Abbott Elementary Returns on Global, Carrie Hits Prime Video

Quick answer: Wednesday, Oct. 7 has several premieres on Canadian TV and one big streaming arrival. Abbott Elementary opens Season 6 on Global at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT, Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage opens Season 3 on CTV at 9 p.m. ET/PT, CBC starts the three-part Doula: A True Crime at 8 p.m., and Prime Video adds Carrie. Survivor and The Amazing Race both have new episodes, on Global and CTV.

We read the Global rows off Global's Toronto and British Columbia schedules for Oct. 7, and the CTV rows off the Toronto and Vancouver station schedules. The CBC hour is from CBC's fall release, which gives one time and no regional breakdown.

What's new on TV in Canada tonight?

Two U.S. comedies open new seasons on the commercial networks. Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage starts Season 3 on CTV at 9 p.m. ET/PT, per Bell Media's fall schedule, and Abbott Elementary starts Season 6 on Global. Corus dated the Season 6 opener for Oct. 7 at 10:30 p.m. in its fall release, and Global's schedule now carries the episode title. Global's schedule also has an older Abbott episode at 7 p.m. that day, so the new one is the late slot.

CTV's night is The Floor, Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage and The Amazing Race. Its station schedules number this as the third episode of both The Floor and The Amazing Race. If you're looking for a U.S. series that isn't in the table, our fall 2026 channel finder sorts them by title.

What time are Survivor and Abbott Elementary on outside Ontario and B.C.?

It depends on the station, and Global doesn't keep the Eastern order everywhere. Its Calgary and Edmonton schedules for Oct. 7 put Private Eyes West Coast first and Survivor second. The Maritimes schedule moves Abbott Elementary to the early evening.

Each hour is local time on that region's Global schedule. The schedule tool has no Winnipeg or Regina option, so check local listings in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Our Survivor page explains the 90-minute episodes and the streaming options.

Is The Amazing Race on at the same time across Canada?

No. CTV's station schedules for Oct. 7 have it at 9:30 p.m. in Toronto and Vancouver, 8:30 p.m. CT in Winnipeg and 7 p.m. MT in Calgary, where it opens the night and The Floor moves to 9 p.m. Winnipeg runs The Floor at 7 p.m. CT.

We couldn't pull a Halifax schedule, so Atlantic viewers should check local listings. Our Amazing Race page tracks the slot week to week. On the Canadian side of reality TV, sister site CA Reality On Air keeps the MasterChef Canada Season 9 cast and eliminations after Tuesday's third episode.

Where can I watch Doula: A True Crime?

On CBC TV at 8 p.m., or on CBC Gem. CBC's fall release lists the docuseries as three one-hour episodes about Kaitlyn Braun's pregnancy deceptions. The same release says the first episode of every fall series reaches Gem at 9 a.m. ET on premiere day, with one more each week. Gem's own catalogue listed all three Doula episodes on Thursday, Oct. 8, so this series may not be following that weekly pattern.

That makes Gem the earlier option by 11 hours in Ontario. Our CBC Gem explainer covers what the free tier includes.

What's new on Netflix Canada and Prime Video today?

Netflix Canada adds five titles on Oct. 7: the documentary Who Is Martin Mull?, the Mexican series Inside The Circle, the Polish film Less of a Stranger, Season 2 of Italy's Real Men and the film Underworld. MobileSyrup and iPhone in Canada print the same five. Neither has anything leaving that day.

Prime Video's addition is Carrie, a Prime Original based on Stephen King's novel. Both Canadian lists date it Oct. 7, and both add a live NHL game, Colorado at Winnipeg. The Netflix Canada October list has the other 30 days.

Did Crave or Disney+ add anything on Oct. 7?

Crave has no title dated Oct. 7 in Bell Media's October overview or in MobileSyrup's list. Its next dated batch is four films on Thursday, Oct. 8, including A Tribe Called Love, which Bell flags as Canadian. The Crave October list has every date.

Disney+ is busier. Both Canadian lists have Season 2 of Vampirina: Teenage Vampire, the special Jamie Foxx: Take Care of Yourself, the premiere of Merry Berry Love and Halloween episodes of Big City Greens, Kiff and Phineas and Ferb. MobileSyrup dates the Abbott Elementary premiere on Disney+ for Oct. 8, a day after Global.

What's coming on Thursday, Oct. 8?

Global has three premieres in a row, per Corus: the new comedy Eternally Yours at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT, Elsbeth Season 4 at 9 and the new drama Cupertino at 10. Netflix adds two Canadian titles that day, the series Below and Unicorn Academy: Secrets Revealed Chapter 2.

Tuesday's rundown has the three NCIS premieres, and the rest of the week through Sunday, Oct. 11 is in new in Canada, Oct. 5 to 11.
