When does Season 39 start, and what is the two-night opener?
CBS is opening with back-to-back nights: Wednesday, Sept. 30 and Thursday, Oct. 1, both 9:30 to 11 p.m., with the Thursday hour parked behind the Big Brother finale. From Oct. 7 the race keeps the Wednesday slot on its own.

Whether CTV carries that Thursday hour is not confirmed at time of writing. Bell Media's chronological list names premiere dates only, so a second night of the same premiere would not necessarily appear on it either way — we checked the list on Sept. 20 and Oct. 1 is not there. Is this the same show as The Amazing Race Canada?
No, and the overlap in the name costs CTV viewers a few minutes every fall. The American series with Phil Keoghan is the one starting Sept. 30. The Canadian version with Jon Montgomery ran July to September and wrapped Season 12 on Sept. 15.

Does Season 39 really start in Vancouver?
It does. The 13 teams leave from Vancouver, then travel through Spain, Morocco, Albania, Sri Lanka, Laos, Australia and New Zealand before the finish line back in the United States — roughly 25,000 miles across 12 legs, for the usual $1 million.
A Canadian start line is rarer than you would think for a show that has visited more than 100 cities. It also gives the first leg a different feel for viewers here, since the scenery is the commute rather than the postcard.
Can you stream The Amazing Race in Canada?
Crave, the day after the broadcast. Bell Media's line on the fall schedule is blunt about it: the full CTV lineup streams next day there, which covers this one.
CTV.ca and the CTV app also post episodes, though the deeper catalogue asks for a TV provider sign-in. Paramount+ is the American answer and does sell in Canada, but nobody has published a Canadian streaming plan for Season 39, so it is not the route to count on. Why does CTV run it at the same minute as CBS?
Simultaneous substitution. A Canadian broadcaster showing the same program in the same slot as an American station can ask for its own signal, and its own ads, to replace the US feed on your provider's box.
