- Crave streams the same broadcast live and keeps the episode on demand from the next day.
- Season 52 began Saturday, Sept. 26 — the first season under Bell Media after years on Global.
| Where | When | What you get |
|---|---|---|

| Crave | Saturdays, 11:30 p.m. ET | The same broadcast, streaming live |
| Crave on demand | From Sunday | The full episode, next to the SNL Collection of older seasons |
| Global / STACKTV | — | Not carrying Season 52; what stays in the STACKTV back catalogue is not confirmed at time of writing |
What time is SNL on in Canada?
11:30 p.m. Eastern on CTV, the same minute it starts on NBC. Channel Canada's fall grid lists it as Saturday Night Live (season 52, September 26 @ 11:30pm ET), flagged as new to the network.
On Oct. 31 the western stations took the live signal: SNL has gone out live across all American time zones since 2017, and CTV's station schedules listed the show at 10:29 p.m. in Winnipeg, 9:29 p.m. in Regina, Calgary and Edmonton, and 8:29 p.m. in Vancouver — not at 11:30 p.m. local. Halifax got it at 12:29 a.m. on Sunday. The Nov. 7 listings differ in Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver (see the Nov. 7 row above), so check your local listing.
| Time zone | Live broadcast (NBC) | CTV feed (Oct. 31) |
|---|---|---|
| Eastern | 11:30 p.m. | 11:30 p.m., simulcast |
| Central | 10:30 p.m. | 10:30 p.m., live (Winnipeg) |
| Mountain | 9:30 p.m. | 9:30 p.m., live (Calgary, Edmonton; Regina too) |
| Pacific | 8:30 p.m. | 8:30 p.m., live (Vancouver) |
| Atlantic / Newfoundland | — | 12:30 a.m. Sunday, live, in the Maritimes; in Newfoundland check NTV's listing |
Is SNL on Crave live, or only the next day?
Both. Bell Media's announcement says the season is “airing in simulcast exclusively on CTV and streaming live on Crave,” and that new episodes “will also be available to stream on demand next day on Crave.” So a Crave subscription without cable gets you the live show at 11:30 p.m. ET and the replay whenever you want it.
Crave uses the same pattern for the rest of Bell Media's slate — the details are in our explainer on how Crave handles HBO and Max titles.
Why did SNL move from Global to CTV?
Rights, and the timing of a renewal — part of a wider Bell Media reshuffle.
| When | What changed |
|---|---|
| Until Season 51 | Saturday nights on Global, next-day streaming on STACKTV |
| April 13, 2026 | Bell Media announces the acquisition, calling Crave and CTV “the new home of SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE in Canada” |
| 2026/27 slate | SNL moves into CTV's Saturday lineup |
| 2027 | Big Brother USA follows the same way |

When does Season 52 start, and who is hosting?
It started Saturday, Sept. 26. NBC has announced hosts for six episodes so far, through Nov. 14, and the cast list changed over the summer: Chloe Fineman left after seven seasons, Ashley Padilla and Jane Wickline moved up to repertory, and two new featured players joined in September.
| Date | Host | Musical guest |
|---|---|---|
| Sat, Sept. 26 | Jalen Brunson | KATSEYE |
| Sat, Oct. 3 | Dakota Johnson | Turnstile |
| Sat, Oct. 10 | Shane Gillis | Rosalía |
| Sat, Oct. 31 | Inde Navarrette | Gracie Abrams |
| Sat, Nov. 7 | Druski | The Strokes |
| Sat, Nov. 14 | John Mulaney | Phoebe Bridgers |
The gap between Oct. 10 and Oct. 31 was normal — SNL runs in blocks with weeks off, and NBC announces hosts in batches rather than all at once. NBC confirmed on Oct. 22 that Druski hosts on Nov. 7 with The Strokes and that John Mulaney hosts on Nov. 14 with Phoebe Bridgers (TVLine, Oct. 22; TVmaze's NBC listing carries both), so both are in the tables above.
Can you still watch older SNL seasons in Canada?
Yes, on Crave. Bell Media's SNL Collection carries episodes from past seasons alongside the new ones, which is a change from the STACKTV arrangement where the library and the live broadcast sat with Global. Whether anything already in STACKTV's catalogue stays there is not confirmed at time of writing.
What else lands on CTV this week?

| Survivor | Global | Wednesday, 8 p.m. ET/PT |

FAQ
Do I need cable to watch SNL in Canada now?
No. CTV is a free over-the-air network in most Canadian cities, and Crave carries the live stream for anyone without an antenna or a TV provider.
Is SNL still on Global?
Not for Season 52. Global carried the show until the Bell Media deal took effect; new episodes are on CTV and Crave from Sept. 26.
Does Peacock work for SNL in Canada?
Peacock is not available as a standalone service in Canada, so the Canadian route is CTV live or Crave. NBC puts episodes on Peacock the next day for American viewers.
