New in Canada Next Week (Sept. 28–Oct. 4, 2026): Amazing Race 39, BB28 Finale, SNL
Quick answer: the week of Sept. 28 in Canada brings the Amazing Race Season 39 premiere and the new Global drama Private Eyes West Coast on Wednesday, Sept. 30, the Big Brother 28 finale on Global on Thursday, and Dakota Johnson hosting SNL on CTV on Saturday, Oct. 3. CBC closes the week with Heartland and The Great Canadian Baking Show on Sunday, Oct. 4.
Streaming gets busy from Thursday, when the October lists kick in. Netflix Canada drops its East of Eden series on Oct. 1, and Disney+ has Scrubs' second season the same day.

Network rows repeat across the four columns because CTV, Global, Citytv and CBC run primetime at the same clock hour on each regional feed. On an Eastern feed in Atlantic Canada, add an hour (AT) and 90 minutes in Newfoundland (NT). The DWTS row is a live stream, so it's the same moment everywhere. *Netflix doesn't publish per-title Canadian times; its originals have been landing at 3 a.m. ET.
What's on TV in Canada on Monday, Sept. 28?
CTV's Monday stays as it was last week. The Voice runs at 8 p.m. and The Traitors Canada has Episode 2 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, with both on Crave the next day.
TVmaze shows the Traitors episode at 9 p.m., but Bell Media's page still gives 10, and CA Reality On Air's reality schedule explains why we went with CTV. For The Voice, Channel Canada's calendar still says CTV2 while Bell's own page says CTV; our Voice page has both.
Why is Wednesday, Sept. 30 the busiest night?
Five premieres or regular episodes stack up between 7 and 9:30 p.m. CTV opens with two episodes of Scrubs at 7, Global has Survivor at 8, Shark Tank's 18th season starts on CTV2 at 9, and at 9:30 CTV launches The Amazing Race Season 39 while Global premieres Private Eyes West Coast.

Why is Scrubs on CTV a day before Disney+?
Because they're two different windows. CTV has the broadcast rights and airs the Season 2 premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. Disney+ Canada lists the same two episodes for Thursday, Oct. 1.
If you don't have cable, Thursday on Disney+ is your first chance. The same split runs through much of the fall, and our channel map lists which Canadian network holds each US show.
When is the Big Brother 28 finale in Canada?
Thursday, Oct. 1 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Global. Global's own recap has Drew, Taylor and Devens as the final three.
It may be the last Big Brother finale on Global. Bell Media announced on Sept. 22 that the American series moves to CTV and Crave from summer 2027, alongside a Big Brother Canada revival hosted by Andrea Bain.
The Traitors: New Blood airs at the same hour on CTV2. That's a straight clash, so one of them goes to the PVR.
What's new on Netflix Canada and Disney+ from Oct. 1?
Netflix leads with its original series East of Eden, plus Crazy Rich, Incredibly Broke and the first season of Saint-Pierre. The film side is horror-heavy for October: The Silence of the Lambs and three Insidious films on Thursday, Midsommar and The Witch on Friday, Sinners on Sunday.

Prime Video's picks both land Friday: the Amazon Original Kill Jackie and the second season of Red Queen.

Who hosts SNL on Oct. 3?
Dakota Johnson, with Turnstile as musical guest. NBC confirmed both, and it's Johnson's third time hosting and Turnstile's first SNL appearance.

What does CBC have on Sunday, Oct. 4?
Two long-runners come back. Heartland opens its 20th season at 7 p.m., and The Great Canadian Baking Show starts Season 10 at 8.

No. Bell Media has Season 39 on Wednesdays, starting Sept. 30 at 9:30 p.m., and the episode goes to Crave the next day.
Is Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent back next week?
Channel Canada lists a two-episode Season 4 premiere on Citytv on Thursday, Oct. 1 at 8 p.m., but we couldn't match it to a second schedule yet, so it's not in the table.
How long is Survivor on Global now?
90 minutes. After the two-hour opener on Sept. 23, Global runs Survivor 51 from 8 to 9:30 p.m. ET/PT on Wednesdays, per Corus and Channel Canada.
