New in Canada Today, Sept. 30: The Amazing Race 39, Private Eyes West Coast
Wednesday, Sept. 30 is a crowded broadcast night in Canada. Two premieres start at the same minute on rival networks: The Amazing Race opens Season 39 at 9:30 p.m. on CTV, and Global launches Private Eyes West Coast, its Victoria-set spinoff with Jason Priestley and Cindy Sampson, at 9:30 too.
Earlier in the evening CTV brings Scrubs back at 7 p.m. with two episodes. On the streaming side, Prime Video drops 45 titles in one go, Crave opens a French-language horror competition, and three Jurassic films spend their last day on Netflix Canada.

What did Prime Video Canada add today?
We counted 45 titles on the Sept. 30 line of the monthly list: 43 catalogue films and two Prime Originals, Livestream From Hell and the second season of Los Tinelli.
Much of it is studio catalogue arriving in batches: all three Rush Hour films, Lethal Weapon 3 and 4, two Austin Powers sequels. The Shawshank Redemption, Mad Max: Fury Road, Gravity, Argo and The Notebook are in there too.
What is CBC Gem adding for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation?
Two films in its Truth and Reconciliation Collection. Tautuktavuk (What We See), directed by Carol Kunnuk and Lucy Tulugarjuk, follows two Inuit sisters through a hard stretch of healing. What We Carry, from Jessie Anthony, looks at a teacher who came from England in 1964 to work at a residential school.
